Scarborough, Whitby and Yorkshire Pride
5 days | 4 nights | Only £470 | Tour No. 30
Tradition once ruled the way we live; skills and livelihoods were passed down through the generations, from fathers to sons, mothers to daughters, masters to apprentices.

North Yorkshire's people are proud of their heritage and at Ryedale Folk Museum they preserve the old ways of coopers, blacksmiths, crofters and folk crafts on a three acre site that pays tribute to centuries of habitation.

Whitby and Scarborough are home ports to fishing vessels that ply their trade on the North Sea, returning with deliciously fresh catches of fish, crap and lobster.

These thriving ports have inspired many, from Captain Cook to Bram Stoker who looked upon Whitby Abbey and created the gothic masterpiece 'Dracula'.

The beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors are on display as we travel by steam train from Pickering to Goathland, and a visit to Thirsk features familiar landscapes from the BBC series 'All Creatures Great and Small' and 'Heartbeat'.

Magnificent Castle Howard shows tradition from a different angle, towards which many aspire but few ever reach.
